PARKS & PEDESTRIAN CONNECTIVITY
Within Uplands we have two categories of parks. There will be 34 acres of public land dedication (PLD) given to the City of Westminster, who will take the lead on design and construction effortsand public Uplands parks. Additionally, there will be 6 acres of land dedicated for view corridors. There will also be numerous public Uplands parks throughout the community.
Your input will help inform the types of functions and amenties planned for these parks and community connections.
STREETSCAPES & COMMUNITY EDGES
This section focuses on the roadway and pedestrian connections within Uplands. We want to provide you with the opportunity to study the proposed street sections and streetscape design solutions for the perimeters of the Uplands community. All of these street improvements will be completed and paid for as part of the Uplands develoment.
Your input will help guide us in the selection of materials for hardscapes and landscapes.
THE VILLAGE CENTER
The Village Center is a mixed-use hub on the west side of Federal Boulevard at 86th Avenue. This area is intended to include a mix of uses, including residential and commercial, and provide goods and services for the surrounding neighborhoods. Buildings will be located to form active commercial street fronts and interconnecting pedestrian spaces, such as plazas.
Your input will help us identify the community's preferences for amenities and functions with The Village Center.
ARCHITECTURAL CHARACTER
Uplands is designed with people in mind, so there will be a good mix of housing types to accommodate diverse living needs. Rather than prescribing a singular architectural style, we’ll focus on quality elements that will have the character of an established neighborhood.
Your input will help guide the architectural direction we give each of the builders as they are selected in the future.
We appreciate your participation in our Digital Design Workshop, which is a critical component of our continued community engagement efforts during this restricted Covid-19 environment we all find ourselves in. If you have not been able to attend previous meetings, the recordings and Q&A are available on our website at www.uplandscolorado.com/resources. Our outreach efforts do not stop here.
